GENERAL INFORMATION
Reports to: Head, Business Growth
Direct Reports: Cluster Heads (FWA, AWA, Nigeria, SADC, EAC), 
Location: TBC (preferably to the closest Ecobank country but TBD by the Group)
 

JOB PURPOSE


The Regional Growth Manager is responsible for driving and expanding Ecobank’s cross-border remittance and BaaS/Fintech business across all regions. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Growth, this role leads regional performance and revenue growth across affiliates and local markets. The incumbent ensures strong alignment with the Group’s vision and strategy, enabling affiliates to execute effectively on business objectives.

Cross-border remittances and BaaS/Fintech solutions are critical pillars in Ecobank’s growth, transformation, and returns agenda. The role operates in a highly competitive, rapidly evolving environment shaped by digital disruption, new market entrants, regulatory changes, and customer demand for seamless and cost-efficient payment solutions. The Regional Growth Manager plays a pivotal role in scaling partnerships, ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing affiliate performance, and positioning Ecobank as the leading Pan-African provider of innovative remittance and fintech solutions.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Business and Financial Performance:
•    Develop and implement strategies to achieve ambitious annual growth targets for remittance and fintech revenues.
•    Leading performance management of cluster heads and affiliate teams.
•    Ensure close partner engagement and on-ground execution.
•    Conduct frequent market visits to drive growth and maintain agility in a competitive landscape.
•    Identify and capitalize on market trends and new business opportunities across all regions.
•    Monitor and report on financial performance, ensuring all initiatives contribute positively to profitability.
•    Provide data-driven recommendations for business expansion, product development, and partnership growth.
•    Conduct regular (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) business reviews with cluster heads to assess performance and drive accountability.
 

Relationship & Account Management:
•    Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with key partners, regulators, and payment service providers.
•    Oversee the performance of cluster heads, ensuring alignment with group objectives and KPIs.
•    Collaborate with partners to develop and execute joint business plans and strategies.
•    Ensure partner satisfaction and loyalty, proactively addressing issues and identifying opportunities for deeper engagement.
 

Leadership and People Management
•    Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
•    Set clear KPIs and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress, and provide coaching.
•    Promote continuous learning and development within the team.
 

Business Analysis & Insight
•    Analyze business performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
•    Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting key metrics and actionable insights.
•    Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
 

Process, Control, and Operational Excellence
•    Oversee and streamline partner onboarding processes, aiming for efficiency and compliance.
•    Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Treasury, Risk, Technology) to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives.
•    Ensure all activities adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
 

Strategic Initiatives & Innovation
•    Encourage innovative approaches to business expansion and customer engagement.
•    Lead cross-functional collaboration to execute growth initiatives and position Ecobank as a market leader.
•    Establish feedback systems to capture customer and partner insights for continuous improvement.

JOB PROFILE
Education
•    Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
•    MBA or advanced degree in Strategy, International Business, or a related field preferred.

Experience
•    Minimum of 8 years in business development, account management, or business analysis, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within fintech, remittance, or financial services.
•    Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and managing partnerships in international markets, especially in Africa.
•    Strong knowledge of cross-border payment systems, digital wallets, mobile money, and emerging fintech trends.
•    Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
